The Hospitalist Consulting Group, LLC

Edward Ma, MD is a principal with The Hospitalist Consulting Group, LLC. He graduated with honors from The University of Pennsylvania with a bachelors degree in biochemistry.  He received his medical degree with distinction from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School and completed his internal medicine training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He is board certified in internal medicine and has been a practicing hospitalist since 2003 with experience as a traditional hospitalist, nocturnist, and intensivist. He serves as an contributor and advisor for numerous hospitalist publications and organizations.

Our History

Dr. Ma started his hospitalist career with little appreciation for the importance of this burgeoning field.  He quickly realized that there were some good ways of operating a hospital medicine practice but many more poor ways to do so. Each hospitalist practice did as it saw fit because of the dearth of best practices guidelines.  He became involved with numerous local and regional activities to standardize and streamline various aspects of hospital medicine. Because of his hopes for this exciting new field and his adamant voicing of his and his colleagues' concerns about practice management issues, he was solicited by several organizations to present viable solutions for hospitalist practices. This eventually lead to the formation of The Hospitalist Consulting Group, LLC.
